Choosing the photo

• Use art you have the right to use

  Your own drawings, commissions you have permission to use, and photos of miniatures you painted are all fine. Official book art and other people's work are not yours to redraw.

• Photograph miniatures up close

  Stand the mini on white or grey card, light it from the side with a desk lamp, and fill the frame. Focus on the face.

• Crop to the character

  Cut away dice, table clutter and backgrounds so the character fills the image.

• Use one style for the whole party
